The aSoC system development is being accomplished by many students and faculty members at the University of Massachusetts. This system serves many functions. First, aSoC is being studied as an advanced architecture which will hopefully provide future designers with an infrastructure that guarantees high bandwidth communications, while being scalable and easy to import intellectual property cores. Second, the system serves as a test bed for development of power aware computing techniques and components. Finally, aSoC is being used in graduate course work as a platform for advanced VLSI design projects. In all, there are many contributors to this project.
